A Classic Yacht for Cruising
Berenice was designed and built by J Samuel White & company of Cowes and launched in 1923. She is an elegant, impressive and head-turning yacht, her hull made of the finest pitch pine with new Douglas Fir masts and spars, teak decks and interior mahogany panelling.
History
The yacht originally cruised and raced under The Royal Yacht Squadron in European waters until requisitioned by The Navy in 1941 for coastal patrol work with a cannon on her foredeck! Under the name Meroë of Kent she was later modernised and used for charter but eventually fell into disrepair until we purchased her in 2001.
Experience
Berenice can carry a crew of three: an experienced highly qualified skipper, mate and cook. Whilst they will take responsibility for running the yacht, we hope guests will enjoy helping to sail this lovely vessel which cruises at an average 8kn in fair conditions. Diving may be organised by prior arrangement.
Lovely accommodation
Berenice provides lovely accommodation for six guests. Twin bedded stateroom aft with own W.C. and hand basin, a double bedded cabin amidships with hand basin and twin Pullman bedded cabin with hand basin forward of the saloon. All beds have wool covered natural latex and coir mattresses. There is a separate guest shower/bath, wash basin and W.C. The large saloon has retained its original mahogany panelling and gimballed table with banquets and seating for eight.
Berenice Yacht Charter
Berenice is ideal for all kinds of charter, from a day out with friends and family lunching at anchor, through to corporate hospitality and teambuilding exercises. Not forgetting what she is best at, leading the fleet around one of the many Mediterranean classic yacht regattas !
